Black Fence Farms evolved as a personal offshoot of Canyon Equine Medical Center’s CEO and veterinarian Dr. Katie Prince. Dr. Prince spent a great deal of time in Kentucky working on breeding farms after her DVM schooling only to fall in love with the rolling green pastures of Lexington outlining the farms with their traditional black fences. To continue the tradition, our farm, which adopted the black fencing, strives to breed minis that are not only beautiful, but also powerful learning tools. Dr. Prince, like so many others, knows that minis are more than their appearance, and she hopes to share them with the upcoming generations as a way to teach others compassion, empathy, and responsibility. Nothing worthwhile comes easy, but Dr. Prince and Black Fence Farms make it look like it!
